Spring is here, the crocus buds are peeping their heads up through the cold soil, birds are singing again, nature is waking up and so are we.
It's the perfect time to launch this site, and for us to get clearing!
You know, I've been helping my friends de-clutter their spaces for years. I would go on play dates as a child, and by the time my mother had come to pick me up, my friend and I would be putting the finishing touches to her newly tidied and beautified room, and proudly handing over bags of trash. I think it somewhat mystified the parents of my friends as to why I'd want to spend a play date clearing and cleaning other people's rooms. I remember, after one play date when my friend Anna and I were about 8, her mother walked into the room and exclaimed "My! It's like Buckingham Palace in here!"
And the funny thing? We had FUN! De-cluttering can be as fun as playing. As adults, we take everything very seriously, and start to dread things like organizing or filing. What if it was fun?
It took me years before I realized that helping friends de-clutter was my way of bringing light and love into their lives - it was my way of giving them a gift. It gave me tremendous satisfaction to see them so happy and proud of their 'new' space. (And it probably helped that I was incredibly bossy back then, so my friends had little choice in the matter.) It took a few more years before I realized that 'de-cluttering' could also be achieved on a physical, emotional and spiritual level, and this realization started me on my path to become a healing facilitator. But that's a story for another blog post.
A friend sent me a great link today with a bunch of spring cleaning tips. I hadn't come across some of these before and they're great.
I think my favorite might be number 5: Keep your cleaning supplies neat with a tension rod. Here's the full article.
I look forward to meeting you soon. Spring cleaning can be done at any time of the year, but remember: The best time is NOW.
